Georgina and Michael Penruddock with their flair for detail have transformed this 19th century house to provide comfortable and original accommodation with the most spectacular west facing views across the mile wide Blackwater estuary to Youghal. The setting could not be more tranquil.
At high tide guests can enjoy sitting on the terrace, perhaps with a fishing rod in hand, and water immediately beneath them. At low tide the secluded beach plays host to the diverse estuary birdlife - curlews, oystercatchers, herons, shell duck and many more. Alternatively guests can walk along the beach in solitude amongst the birds.
Newtown House was included in the 2012 Bridgestone Guide as being one of ''The Top 100 Best Places to Stay in Ireland' and more specifically as being one of the ''Top 10 Best Seaside Places to stay''. Also recommended by the Alistair Sawday Guide.
