Newtown House was built to a Georgian design in 1888 and forms the south westerly corner of an elegant courtyard. Guests can enjoy the south and west facing drawing room with its original Victorian plasterwork and fireplace. A conservatory, which is ideal for afternoon tea or breakfast, has recently been built onto the western side of the drawing room overlooking the estuary. The dining room, which joins onto the drawing room, was converted from the old harvesters lodgings, and has the original timbers above the fireplace. Both rooms have been decorated with an interesting and eclectic collection of art and antiques and look out over the most stunning views across the estuary. Guests will be bathed in light during breakfast from the plate glass windows of the dining room which look east over the courtyard garden and west towards the estuary.
To concentrate on providing the very best in style and service the Penruddocks have decided to make only two of the bedrooms available to guests, both of which have colour televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. The Estuary bedroom has access to the internet:
The Estuary Bedroom
Interesting art, antique furniture, and stylish contemporary furnishings coupled with estuary views to the west and cattle grazing in the paddock to the south of the house. This large and spacious bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom.
